At the 2019 Provincial Women’s Softball Association AGM, held in Oakville on Saturday November 23rd, details regarding a 1-year pilot in partnership with Softball Canada was announced.
Representative level softball players from Ontario, along with their counterparts in Manitoba and Quebec, will playing under a revised set of field measurements and ball size. The Pilot Project rules do not impact hose playing at the House league or Select levels in the participating provinces.
The revisions for the 2020 pilot project are:
U10 Pitching Distance – 35 ft
Base Distance – 50 ft
Pitching Distance – 38 ft
Base Distance – 60 ft
Ball remains at 11”

There will be no changes.
The Canadian Championships and the Eastern Canadian Championships will not be adopting the pilot. As such, we did not want to disadvantage Ontario teams participating at these Championships.
Please direct any questions to P.W.S.A. at email@example.com, who will then contact Softball Canada on behalf of Ontario.
For those who have tried the initial distances or ball size, we would appreciate your feedback so that we can effectively discuss at the Softball Canada AGM in November.
